New Standing Committees
At the October 4, 2010 meeting of the Board of Directors, the following committees and task forces were dissolved and/or renamed:
- Advocacy Standing Committee
- Capacity Building Standing Committee
- Communication Standing Committee
- Resource Integration Standing Committee
- Membership Task Force (functions assumed by Membership Engagement Committee, Sustainability Committee and Secretariat)
- Website Task Force (functions taken over by the Executive Committee and Secretariat)
- Nominations Task Force (functions taken over by the Executive Committee)
The new Committee structure is as follows:
Sustainability Standing Committee
- Ensuring ongoing viability of the OHWC including membership revenue.
Partnership Development Standing Committee
- Working with private, public, and not-for-profit organizations in Ontario to identify and develop healthy workplace initiatives of common interest.
Public Policy and Systemic Change Standing Committee
- Engaging the governments of Ontario/Canada (includes Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care, Ministry of Health Promotion, Ministry of Labour, Ontario Agency for Health Protection & Promotion, Ministry of Education.
- Advocating for healthy workplaces, e.g., responding to the Tony Dean Report
Membership Engagement Standing Committee
- Exploring strategies such as a Symposium, website, communications with members
- Facilitating educational events and networking using technology (both facilitation and promotion)
